5/15 (4:00pm): Since Fri afternoon scrib has ben undergoing problems. Everything I posted was deleted and I wa unable to reposted until now. However I am finding that they are not printable documents. Therefore I will email everyone a copy of the review and will have a hard copy made and will distribute it in class Mon (5/16).

- Also please keep in mind that ALL extra credit papers are due Mon (5/16) NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
If you are having trouble with your printers or computers these (and other reasons) will not be accepted.

5/3 (9:30pm): The Key for HW 12 is finally posted. Also a guideline for the Extra Credit paper is posted on the 'links' page. 
Please keep in mind the announcement for 4/27 concernig Exam 4

4/27: Announcement: Exam 4 will be held on Mon 5/9. It will cover Chap 10, VESPR theory, and Chap 12. ANY student who does not attend class on Exam 4 day will get a ZERO on their exam. Students with proper documentation i.e., Dr's note, etc we will then arrange a testing make-up date. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

4/25: Chap 9 pp and HW are now posted in 'Info Links'  

4/12: Class is CANCELLED for Wed 4/13

4/11 (6:00pm): For those of you who missed Exam 3. Make up date is Fri 4/15 at 11:00am. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you do not stay for that makeup you will receive a zero.

4/6 (10:45pm): Review Key for Exam 3: Typo Q6: Mg in orbital diagram the 2s2 oribtial shoud have electrons in oposite spins. 

If you guys think there may be more let me know!

Q24: is NOT a typo. Cl has the largest electron affinity. See textbook for full explaination.  

4/4 (9:00pm): Exam 3 Review material is posted on 'Info Links'. Exam 3 is Mon 4/11. It will cover Chap 5, 7 and 8. 

We will be starting new material Wed but it will NOT be on the Exam.

3/31 (11:00pm): In case you are unsure...YES a graph needs to be made for Prelab 8, on graph paper, using the full page, label axis' with units, reasonable scale, and a title of the graph. 

The goal is to find Absolute Zero

3/30: HW 11 is posted. DUE Fri 4/1.
Also notice the NEW TAB 'Calendar'. All due dates and schedules will be there instead of 'What Due and When'

3/28: HW 10 is now posted on 'Info Links' page and due by Wed 3/30.

3/23: PP for Chap 7 is now posted. Please read slides 1- 9 to revisit the notes we did in class.
HW 9 key will be posted this evening. Any questions for Prelab 7 post on them 'Question Forum'

3/18: HW 9 is posted and DUE 3/21. Please view the brief PP to revisit the information that was discussed on Wed. Keep in mind this is the only PP that will be used for Chap 5. All other notes will be completed in class.

3/17 (2:30pm): There is NO HW DUE for Fri. We did not go over enough material.

3/13 (4:00pm):  1st: Everything you need to pass Exam 2 is in the PP and HW that you have and can redo. 2nd:Every Q on the Review that I said you would need to practice was discussed and gone over in Lab on Fri. 3rd: I posted the Key Fri at 3:45pm and for whatever reason Scrib did not post the link correctly and I will now repost it. Hopefully it will be successful. However if it is not I will not be reposting. 
As for future exams. I may or maynot do review sheets in the light of the questions I am recieving. I have repeatedly stated that ALL information you need to know is on the PP and in the HW. Therefore you should have been well on your way to studying for this exam. 

3/10 (10:45pm): REMINDER: Graphs must be completed for tomorrow's (3/11) lab in order to finish up!!!

3/8 (11:45PM): Review Sheet for Exam 2 is up. It is DUE Fri 3/11 and will be counted as HW. I will NOT be posting an addtional HW for Chap 4.

3/3 (8:30pm): IMPORTANT CHANGE:  Exam 2 will now be held Mon 3/14. It will cover the last bit of Chap 2, All of Chaps 3 and 4.

- Also I will be holding an extra help session tomorrow (3/4) directly after lab if anyone would like to attend.

3/2 (9:15pm): I have posted a link for a printable periodic table. Go to 'Info Links' scroll all the way down to 'Other Helpful Links' and click on the link for the table.

3/1 (10:00pm): HW 8 is now up. My apologies for the delay. HW 8 is DUE Fri

2/26 (1:50pm): Keys are posted for HW 7 and Exam 1 (scroll down to 'Exam 1 material' in Info Links for Exam key.

I held an extra help session Fri for about an hour. It was a positive situation that I highly recommend if you feel you need the help. We will be moving on in class on Mon. Redoing the HW with the key will help you practice information that WILL be on the next exam.

ALSO: Please only post questions that have to do with the material we discuss in class. If you need to discuss an absence or other matters email me.

2/24 (5:30pm): -Be sure to check 'What's due and when'. 
- I will be holding an extra help session Fri (2/25) directly after class.  

2/15 (9:00pm): Grades for Exam 1 will be ready by Fri.

For those of you who have NOT taken the exam yet must contact me immediately. Make-up times will be administered this week only - NO EXCEPTIONS.

2/11 (2:45pm): Had some time this afternoon to put together a check list (or review sheet) of topics you need to focus on. Please look it over and post me questions when they arise.

- Review sheet for Exam 1- HW 5 is REPOSTED. It only has on it what you need to studyfor the exam. (the Key is not up yet, it will be by Sat am)
- List of Polyatomics so you can name the compounds.

If you would like to post questions to each other concering study groups feel free to use this site!!!

2/9 (5:00pm): HW 5 is NOT due Fri 2/11 we have yet to cover the material. Check Lab syllabus for what is due in Lab

2/7 (11:00am): PLEASE NOTE: Exam 1 WILL NOT be held Wed 2/9. It is rescheduled for 2/14.
- NOTE: Late HW is not accepted (no exceptions)


2/6 (10:30pm):
- Please note that the 'Informational Link' page has been rearranged . Everything is now sorted within chapters. If you have questions with the new design post it on 'Question Forum'
- Also HW 3 WILL BE collected Mon 2/7
- I will be holding an extra help session directly after class tomorrow in the library for about 40min

2/4 (7:30pm): Energy PP is up. As you complete HW 3 be sure to make your lists of 'Known' and 'Unknowns'. This will help to identify what you are looking for. Rememeber there is only the heat equation needed, it just may need to be rearranged! Post ANY questions you have!!!

2/3 (9:40pm): HW 3 is NOT due tomorrow (Fri 2/4) because of the snow day. We need to cover the material first. If all goes well we will do this short lecture on Energy (Chap 6) in lab.
As for Chap 6 - depending on the textbook edtion you have will depend on whether you have the chap. Do not worry our lecture will cover everything you need for Energy.

2/2 (9:15pm): Be sure to bring your lecture notebook to lab on Fri. we will be going over a few things if time allows.

2/1 (11:00pm): Key for HW 1 and 2 are posted.

1/27 (6:00pm): I have added a 'Lab' page. This has the syllabus for all info concerning the lab. This page is also designated for lab questions ONLY. This will keep discussions on lab topics.

1/26 (6:00pm): See 'Schedule' and 'Links' pages for HW & PP. Please make the effort to complete all HW. By doing so you will be better prepared for discussion of the problems.
Be sure to post ANY and ALL questions! I will be able to post answers in the am and after 6pm Thurs.                   

1/25 (2:30pm): Hint: you will need your textbook to complete the HW

1/24 (11:30pm): HW, Power Point (PP), and other info is posted on 'Informational Links'. In addition I have updated the 'Schedule' pg.

Follow the link to print out the HW. I will not be providing copies in class. Remember HW is not accepted late so be sure to print it out and complete before class.


Welcome All to CHE 100

It was a pleasure meeting everyone today! As we discussed in class, this Blog is a very important component for success. I will post all announcements here but please check the 'Question forum', 'Informational Links', and 'Schedule of whats due and when'.

I will be posting HW this evening so check that later today.

Also, I would like everyone to post an introduction on the 'Question Forum'. State your name, your major and why you are taking chemistry. Due by Wed.
